The Only Way Is Essex alum Jordan Wright has died at the age of 33.

“Everyone at TOWIE sends their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jordan Wright at this very sad time,” a spokesperson for the U.K. reality series told Deadline in a statement.

The Daily Mail U.K. reported that, according to local news outlets, a Burmese worker found the reality star’s body in a drainage ditch near Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand, on Saturday, March 14. Police Lt. Col. Sutthirak Chuthong of the Choeng Thale Police Station reportedly revealed that Wright was first reported missing when the hotel where he was staying as a guest was unable to contact him.

“A search of the room revealed no signs of forced entry or other irregularities,” Chuthong told the Daily Mail in a statement. “Hotel records showed that he had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13, but staff reported that he never checked out.”

“CCTV footage showed that he appeared restless and was moving back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area,” Chuthong added. “His movements eventually led to the location where his body was later discovered. We are still waiting for the autopsy results from Vachira Phuket Hospital to determine whether drugs were present in his system.”

Chuthong also shared that authorities believe Wright had been dead for less than two days before his body was found.

“The case remains under investigation while we wait for the official autopsy results. CCTV footage related to the incident is part of the case file and cannot be released at this stage,” Chuthong continued. “We cannot confirm the exact cause of death until the autopsy results are released. If relatives or friends have concerns about the cause of death, they can contact the police station.”

Officials reportedly claimed that there were no signs that Wright was physically assaulted. His hotel key card was discovered in his pocket, and his phone was found nearby, according to reports.

PEOPLE has reached out to the Royal Thai Police for comment.

Wright first appeared on the small screen in 2017 on the MTV series Ex on the Beach. The following year, he joined the ITV show The Only Way Is Essex. He left after one season, returning to his job as a firefighter.

Wright’s Instagram page indicates that he recently moved to Thailand. His final post, from March 6, features a series of photos of his time there, including many adventures in the water and on the beach. “I’m Home 🇹🇭,” he captioned it.

Under the post, several fellow reality stars paid tribute to Wright after learning of his death. Chloe Brockett, who also appeared on The Only Way Is Essex, wrote: “Rest in peace Jordan.” Love Island’s Chloe Crowhurst commented, “Rest in peace Jord.”

“Lost for words bro. Amazing memories with you mate. Rest easy brother,” influencer Brandon Myers wrote.
