Richard Hammond’s daughter Izzy was left in shock after a high-speed crash in Foruma E. The motorsport influencer crashed into a wall during a lap in the influencer-led Evo Series.
Hammond was taking part in the Formula E Evo Series alongside a host of celebrities in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During a flying lap, she crashed into the wall as she went around a corner but she walked away unharmed despite damaging her car at turn 13. She moved to reassure her team on the radio after the incident and managed to walk away unscathed following the smash.
There was a delay in Jeddah after debris from the crash was strewn across the track. Izzy’s car had to be lifted off the course and sent away for investigation and further assessments but it was said that her brakes failed to stop the car as she turned into the corner where she looked to apply them.
The medical team carried out medical checks and Hammond was heard saying: “I’m fine, I’m fine.” It didn’t stop those in attendance expressing worry with the celebrities in attendance, including YouTube stars The Sidemen, expressing concern.
The influencer racing event pitted teams against each other with two setting laps against eachother with the quickest picking up a point. It has been said that Izzy carried too much speed going into a corner, hitting the barrier with her front right wing.

Hammond boasts 279,000 followers on Instagram and for much of the week, she has been building up to the event in Jeddah. The event saw the ‘Battle of the Sidemen’ with Vikkstar 123, real name Vikram Singh Barn, facing off with Behzinga (Ethan Payne), with a host of influencers on either side.
Formula E sees cars use an electric powertrain whiz around a track, solely relying on a 250kW battery while Formula One sees hybrid cars with internal combustion engines race powered by high-octane fossil fuels. Izzy’s dad, Richard, was involved in a near-death experience after a horror crash crash in 2017.
Hammond, 56, crashed a £2million supercar in Switzerland where it flipped over and burst into flames leading to the former Top Gear host being airlifted to hospital. He remained in hospital for six days and within two months, he was back driving.
