Woman charged with murdering Mackay man Wayne Pedro Morseu, 71, who disappeared six months ago

A woman has been accused of murdering a man who disappeared from an Aussie town six months ago.

A woman has been charged with the murder of a 71-year-old man who disappeared from North Queensland six months ago.

Wayne Pedro Morseu was reported missing in November last year after he had not contacted or was seen by anyone for weeks.

Police believed Mr Morseu was killed at his Griffin St home in Mackay two months before he was reported missing and his remains were on the property for some time before they were moved by someone involved in his death.

Police searched two properties in North Queensland after he vanished in suspicious circumstances.

A 46-year-old woman known to Mr Morseu was charged with his murder and interfering with a corpse about 9.30am on Friday and is due to face the Mackay Magistrates Court
