LOVE Island star Ope Sowande has insisted Angelista Gunda “overreacted” after he came under fire for his “horrifying” comments.
The ITV2 personality spoke out in no uncertain terms after he was given the boot alongside Victoria Onanusi following a brutal game of Truth or Dare.

Ope and Victoria were savagely dumped after being ranked the pair with the weakest connection by one of their fellow Islanders.
Previously, he landed himself in hot water after admitting to everyone that he has a ‘wandering eye’ in remarks which the nurse then branded “disrespectful”.
Talking of the moment he confessed to fearing the bombshells would be “hot” he said after his show exit: “I think if they were on the dates, I feel like they would’ve acted the same.

“But I acknowledged that someone’s feelings were hurt and that’s why I apologised. I felt like it was a slight overreaction”.
Talking about his connection with Angelista he added: “I think with me and Angelista it was hard – we weren’t each other’s usual types but we tried to make it work because of the cards we were dealt.
“We got to the stage where we were clicking, a lot of things just got in the way – my behaviour on date night and Simba coming in.
“It might have gone somewhere but I don’t think it would’ve lasted long”.

In the villa, he branded her a “liar” as she dumped him following his explosive row with Simba.
Ope, who insisted he was down to kiss new girls even while he was while Angelista, was then chosen by bombshell Victoria to couple up with.
But both were dumped shortly after.
Talking of their new connection he added in his post-villa chat: “I don’t think there was an instant spark with Victoria.
“I feel like in my head I want to make everyone feel comfortable and I really like to flirt – I think I was doing that and we got on quite well.
“I think I can get on with anyone”.
Ope and Victoria were given the boot on Friday in dramatic fashion.
As part of the game, stunning Namibia had to rank all the current pairings from who she thought were the strongest right down to the weakest.
It was the final dare as part of the villa’s night-long Truth or Dare game.
Choosing Sean and Lola as the top couple, Namibia eventually landed on picking Ope and Victoria as the weakest.
Unbeknown to her, this meant that she had sealed the fate of Ope and Victoria.
A text soon hit the villa to confirm that they had indeed been dumped from the Island.
Ope was left furious at the result as he screeched: “For f*** sake!”
He then was seen breaking down in tears as he sobbed into Sean’s chest inside the villa.
