‘Deeply saddened’: US metal band Fear Factory pays tribute to young fan killed in triple-fatal car crash in Sans Souci in Sydney’s south
A popular US band has paid tribute to a young Aussie fan who was killed in a triple-fatal car crash on his way home from a night of birthday celebrations at their gig.
A prominent US metal band has paid tribute to a young Australian man who had been at their concert celebrating his birthday right before he was killed in a triple-fatal car crash. A blue Toyota Camry was hit by an Audi which had crossed onto the wrong side of Rocky Point Road at Sans Souci in Sydney’s south on Saturday.
The passenger of the Toyota Camry Uber, Seamus Duignan, was on his way home after celebrating his birthday when he was killed instantly along with the Uber driver in the high-speed crash.
Founding member of US metal band Fear Factory Dino Cazares said he was saddened to hear of Mr Duignan’s death, revealing the young man had been at the band’s Sydney show celebrating his 28th birthday before the crash.
“We were deeply saddened to hear about the tragic accident involving one of the fans who attended our Sydney show,” Cazares said in a video posted to Instagram on Sunday.
“Our thoughts and condolences go out to their family, friends, and everyone affected by this loss.
“We’re grateful to everyone who comes out to support Fear Factory around the world, and we simply want to remind everyone to travel safely and look out for one another on the road home.
“Much respect and sympathy from all of us in Fear Factory.”

The Toyota was being driven by an Uber driver who had been hired by Mr Duignan to drive him home from a concert he had attended to celebrate his 28th birthday.
Following the tragedy, Mr Duignan’s brother Sean took to social media to pay tribute to his sibling.
He wrote: “Absolutely devastating news rest easy little brother can’t believe your (sic) gone life isn’t fair.
“Love you forever sea mouse.”
Meanwhile, Mr Duignan’s grieving mother, Kim Duignan, made an emotional call for the crash to be fully investigated.
Speaking to the Saturday Telegraph, she said: “There needs to be a complete inquest into what caused this crash.
“I don’t want any other parent to have to go through this.”

‘Devastated’: Sister’s heartbreaking tribute
The 42-year-old driver of the Audi, Tamati Gilbert, was also killed in the crash.
Police had earlier responded to a call for a welfare check on Mr Gilbert, but he sped off in the Audi after police approached his home in Second Ave, Gymea Bay, at 12.25am.
Just 10 minutes later, Mr Gilbert lost control of the car, crashing through a concrete barrier before flipping and landing on top of the Toyota.
Mr Gilbert’s sister said she is “heartbroken” by his death in a touching tribute posted to Facebook on Sunday.
“We are absolutely devastated, heartbroken and rocked by his early passing,” she said.
Other loved ones flocked to the comments to pay tribute to Mr Gilbert, with one writing: “We will always remember T’s big smile and sense of humour, his spirit will live on.”
“Your laughter is what I’ll remember, always quick on a cheeky response to any question with a smile and a giggle. You are loved mate and leave us with the best of memories. Rest easy bro,” another wrote.

Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing, with specialist officers from the Crash Investigations Unit involved.
Detective Acting Superintendent Graham Hibbs said it was a “horrific scene”, with between 20 and 40 people nearby who witnessed the crash.
He said officers would examine whether “considerable speed” was a factor in the crash, and whether the driver of the Audi was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
“We really feel for the families of all three persons who were involved in this incident and their loved ones,” Act Supt Hibbs said.
“I don’t think there were many cars on the road at that time, and [it was] extremely unlucky for the people involved.”
Local residents rushed to the scene in a desperate bid to help, some armed with fire extinguishers after a fire broke out in the engine bay of one of the cars.
Following the tragedy, Rocky Point Road was closed for several hours in both directions between Fontainebleau Street in Sans Souci and Holt Road in Taren Point.
It reopened shortly after 10am.
