Netflix’s new crime drama arriving in March could emerge as the streaming platform’s most unexpected triumph of the year.
Branded as “your next binge-watch” by Digital Spy, the forthcoming psychological thriller draws from a bestselling novel that devotees describe as a “masterpiece”.
Moreover, it springs from the creative vision of Jason George, a principal writer and producer behind Netflix’s celebrated cartel series Narcos.
That Night is a gripping Spanish drama launching on screens on 13th March, adapted from the novel by Birmingham author Gillian McAllister, a Sunday Times bestseller.
The series charts a young woman caught up in a catastrophic accident who must make instant choices to evade the authorities, reports

A synopsis reads: “During a family vacation in the Dominican Republic, Elena accidentally hits a man with her car. Desperate and frightened, she calls her sisters, Paula and Cris, asking for help.
“Upon arrival, they must decide how to handle the accident, as they cannot bear the thought of their younger sister going to jail, leaving her only child without a mother. How far will they be willing to go to help protect their family?”
This unmissable thriller opens with a compelling moral dilemma before venturing in directions you certainly won’t anticipate and will leave you speculating throughout. Clara Galle (Through My Window), Claudia Salas (Elite) and Paula Usero (Love Is Forever) will be spearheading the cast.

Originally set between Italy and Birmingham, the TV adaptation relocates the drama without sacrificing any of the heart-stopping suspense.
If you’re eager for That Night’s release in just over a month, be sure to delve into McAllister’s original book of the same title, which boasts thousands of five-star reviews on Amazon.
One enthusiast described it as “a seriously engrossing and tense read”, adding: “There are some cracking twists that I didn’t see coming and it’s an all consuming read that had my heart racing. Gillian McAllister is a master when it comes to messing with readers’ minds and without a doubt this is one of her best books.”
