The heartbroken wife of Jaryd Dawson, the older brother of the Crows skipper, has shared the final photo taken of the 35-year-old and their new son just two days before his shock death.

Jessica Carter Dawson shared the image of a doting dad and baby ‘Huddy’ on social media on Thursday morning.

“I was feeling so incredibly rich in life,” she wrote about the moment captured in the photo.

“Now my heart is shattered into a million pieces. Huddy and I will love you and miss you forever and ever and ever.”

Jessica’s tribute comes after Jaryd was found dead on Wednesday afternoon, 24 hours after the new dad was first reported missing in South Australia’s South-East on Tuesday.

He was last seen around 2.30pm on Tuesday in Robe, sparking a frantic search and fears for his safety.

Jaryd’s wife of two years, Jessica, issued a plea on social media on Wednesday morning, asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to reach out.

Jaryd, the brother of Adelaide captain Jordan Dawson, tied the knot with Jessica in New South Wales in late 2024 before welcoming their first child together, Hudson Ronald, in September.

He was the co-founder of Domus Design & Build, a boutique home building company based in Robe.

He launched the business with a good friend in August 2024, bringing “expertise in project managing, building & plumbing”, according to an Instagram post.

AFL player Jordan was absent from the Crows’ main training session on Wednesday.

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks said the captain was not training because of personal reasons. It is understood the Crows playing group was informed about Jaryd’s disappearance on Wednesday morning.
