TWO signature scents by Rihanna have been recalled over concerns they contain toxic chemicals.
The perfumes were pulled from shelves, with customers warned they may contain ingredients that could affect women’s reproductive system, as well as unborn babies.
Two perfumes by Rihanna have been pulled from shelves over fears they may contain a toxic chemical
UK retailer Savers issued the warning, which applies to two products from the singer’s 15ml line.
The following product names and barcodes are included in the product recall:
Rihanna Kiss 15ml EDP, barcode: 0608940572252
Rihanna Riri 15ml ECP, barcode: 0608940560389
The recall, which was officially issued on Tuesday, March 3, detailed the possible inclusion of hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional in the fragrances.
Both of these chemicals are prohibited from sale in the UK and the EU.
The chemicals, also known as Lyral and Lilial, were banned in December 2022 because their use has been associated with harm to the reproductive system, as well as harming unborn babies.
Customers have been advised to return any of the affected products to their local Savers store for a full refund.
Savers emphasised that only the barcodes listed in the recall are affected.
Anyone who is unsure if they have one of the affected perfumes is advised to speak to a member of the Savers store teams for further assistance.
The retailer apologised for any inconvenience caused to its customers.
Legacy Fragrances, which produced the scents in partnership with Rihanna, and representatives for the singer for comment have both been contacted for comment.
