A body was sadly recovered from the water, prompting detectives to launch a murder investigation.
Cops, forensics officers and police divers were seen scouring the river for evidence in the wake of the tragedy.
Following the grim discovery Nelio Gouveia, 44, was arrested in connection with the woman’s death.
He remained in police custody as the murder probe continued and has since been charged with one count of murder, cops said.
Gouveia has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Thames Valley Police said: “We have liaised with the Crown Prosecution Service, and this evening they have authorised a charge in relation to this incident.
