A Netflix series dubbed “best of the year” has dropped – and fans are eating it up. Streaming on Netflix, Beef has returned for series two, and it boasts a stellar cast lineup including Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan as Joshua Martin and Lindsay Crane-Martin and Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton as Ashley and Austin.

The premise focuses on the dynamic of wealth and status between the two couples, with the younger, less financially stable of the two turning to blackmail as a tool to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Beef is an American comedy-drama anthology series, which was created by Lee Sung Jin for Netflix. After the roaring success of the first series, the second outing has been highly anticipated.

The series synopsis reads: “A young couple witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favours and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.”

The second series has amassed a staggering 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The critics’ consensus states: “Beef pairs its second season with winning performers and a crackling sense of ingenuity in a saga that Lee Sung Jin perfectly anchors through his mastery of class satire and the unexpected modes of human nature.”

A critic wrote: “Beef season 2 is a dark, complex, and brilliantly satirical comedy about petty people carrying oversized chips on their shoulders. Its exploration of human anger remains unmatched — raw, funny, painful and beautifully chaotic.”

One fan said: “Everyone gives the best performances of their career here. I had an absolute blast this season. Mulligan and Melton, in particular, had better get Emmy nominations for this. They really know how to end their seasons on high notes. Super happy that the writers weren’t just one-trick ponies and were able to come up with another fascinating human story as they did here.”

“Absolutely must watch! I mean it! No spoilers needed, simply one of the best shows in 2026,” added another.

A third said: “Among the best series ever. Great characters and well-acted. Very inventive.”

Beef is available to stream now on Netflix.
