Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton has enjoyed a glittering career, clinching a record-equalling seven World Championships and amassing a fortune that he’s used to build an impressive portfolio of luxury properties.

Being one of the greatest drivers of all time brings with it fame and wealth, influencing his decisions to buy properties in some of the most desirable locations including New York, Switzerland, Monaco, London and Colorado.

The 40-year-old’s most recent acquisition is a luxury flat in Milan’s prestigious Porta Nuova district. This area is renowned for its exclusive residences and stunning architecture, making it a prime location within Milan.

This purchase coincided with the British driver’s sensational switch from Mercedes to Ferrari on January 1, 2025, a move that sent shockwaves through the sport. The move brings him closer to Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters.

Hamilton initially considered several properties in Modena and Bologna before settling on the upscale Milan district. This latest addition reflects the driver’s success both on and off the track since his F1 debut in 2007.

During the off season, it’s crucial for Hamilton to rest and evaluate his performances. He can do this comfortably at any of his various high-end properties.

Hamilton’s primary residence is situated in the tax haven of Monaco. The British driver lives in the affluent Fontvieille district where flats can command prices exceeding £30m. Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc also call the same area home.

Hamilton additionally possesses a four-storey mansion in Kensington, London, which he bought for £18.2m in 2017. The property was built in 1860 and boasts a period interior featuring four reception rooms, two bathrooms and a 200-foot garden.

New York represents another cherished destination for Hamilton. In 2017, he acquired a £34m Tribeca penthouse offering stunning vistas of the Manhattan skyline, later selling the property in 2021 for £38.3m.

He has subsequently bought another flat for £32m.

The Ferrari star possesses a three-bedroom flat in Nyon, Switzerland and a stunning ranch in Colorado encircled by towering mountains and beautiful lakes, providing respite from the chaos that accompanies being a successful racing driver. He has shared how it represents his genuine home and cherishes the tranquillity and opportunity to reconnect with nature.

Hamilton discussed how his hectic lifestyle prevents him from maintaining a conventional ‘home’ as such, but he treasures the retreat “because it’s a house and it’s full of love and memories”.

After a disappointing championship season in which Hamilton concluded in his lowest-ever position of sixth, the seven-time champion will be hoping to utilise his vast property portfolio to refresh and regroup before the new campaign.
