Jeremy Clarkson has issued a major announcement as fans eagerly await the season five release of his hit Prime Video series, Clarkson’s Farm. Major developments have emerged for the Diddly Squat Farm, near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, after filming was abruptly halted in January. The reality show, which sees the Top Gear icon and his crew navigate challenges on the fields and with the animals, which was previously suspended due to poor weather.

In a long-awaited update, planning documents submitted to the West Oxfordshire District Council for a variance in conditions at his farm shop reveal season six of Clarkson’s Farm will officially hit the screens next year. This comes after a 2023 planning dispute between Jeremy and the council over the use of land adjacent to the shop for additional car parking, which was resolved when a planning inspector granted permission for its use for three years.

Now the TV presenter is seeking an extension until 2030 for the operation of the site and the use of the adjacent land for car parking, due to the popularity of the farm shop and further commissions for his show.

In the documents, a planning consultant on behalf of Jeremy wrote: “At the time of the appeal, the second series had just aired, and it was renewed for a third series.

“The three-year time limit was chosen on the basis that if the third series was the final one, then two years of monitoring after airing was sufficient to assess demand.”

They confirmed: “It is currently renewed for the fifth series, which is yet to air.

“In light of the continued popularity of the site and associated television programme, we are requesting a further extension of the limited period consents for the use and associated development to provide car parking.

“The inspector clearly identified that the association with a popular current television programme is a unique circumstance which generates a time limited demand.”

Jeremy’s spokesperson continued: “The rationale is clear – at such time as the television programme no longer airs, then demand may reduce, and the parking required for the operation of the farm shop can be assessed and appropriate provision made.

Given series five is yet to air, we are requesting a new time limit is imposed, ending on December 31 2030.

“Season five will air this year, and season six has been commissioned and will air in summer 2027. Three further years to monitor and review thereafter seems appropriate.”

Jeremy initially purchased Curdle Hill Farm nearly 20 years ago, before deciding to run the farm himself in 2019 and renaming it Diddly Squat Farm. The star has since opened the Farmers’ Dog pub, the Diddly Squat Farm Shop, and become a vocal supporter of farmers attending protests and challenging the government’s introduction of inheritance tax on farmland in November 2024.
