The Traitors season 4 and The Night Manager have pulled in impressive audiences for their premieres, breaking BBC viewing records, according to the latest 28-day viewing data.

The Traitors season 4 episode 1, which launched onto our screens on 1st January 2026 on BBC One and iPlayer, drew an audience of 13.3 million across 28 days, making it the most watched episode of the civilian series to date.

This figure also marks the second biggest launch across the market since 2022 (behind The Celebrity Traitors).

Meanwhile, the premiere of The Night Manager season 2, which also aired on BBC One and iPlayer on 1st January 2026, drew an audience of 8.7 million across 28 days, making it the biggest BBC drama debut episode since Vigil season two in 2023.

The Traitors season 4 sees host Claudia Winkleman bring 22 fresh faces up to the Scottish Highlands for the ultimate game of betrayal and deception.

And the new season certainly pulls out all the stops, freshening up the series’ format with a new twist in the form of a secret Traitor.

The Night Manager season 2 sees the returns of Tom Hiddleston as Jonathan Pine and Olivia Colman as Angela Burr, alongside a handful of new faces.

The new season picks up eight years after the first season, with Pine keeping a low profile under a new alias. But just when he thinks he’s buried the past, he’s dragged back into action and into a dangerous operation.
