Love Island’s Amy Hart has broken her silence after her shock exit from the show’s podcast, and revealed the real reason she quit.

For the past three years, the former Love Island contestants have been the hosts of ITV’s official companion podcast, Love Island: The Morning After.

The pair have also been regular contributors on Love Island: Aftersun, which airs on ITV2 on Sunday evenings directly after the main show.

However, ahead of the new summer series of Love Island, Indiyah and Amy have since confirmed that they will not be returning.

Following the announcement, Amy spoke to The Sun about the real reason she quit the job: “I’ve got two kids.”

“Two kids is a lot and I love Love Island so much and it was a joy of a job but I did drive three hours every night.”

“Leaving home at 7pm, getting home at 2am in the morning sometimes,” she explained. “Which with one child who is a really good sleeper is really easy but two children it’s quite a lot when it’s a 12 week old,” she added.

“And getting someone to babysit a 12-week-old and a 3 month old is a lot.”

She added: “It’s a lot for my husband and in the end I had to put my family first.”

In a joint statement shared on Instagram last week, Indiyah and Amy shared a collection of snaps from their time as co-hosts.

“After three incredible years of gossip, girlie chats and love, we wanted to share that we’re stepping away from Love Island: The Morning After & Aftersun 💕🌴,” they began.

“With millions of views, juicy live streams and even a nomination for best video podcast, we are truly leaving on a high and with a friend for life in each other!!”

“The podcast has been such a hugeee part of our lives and we’re super proud of what we’ve built. So many laughs, some unforgettable memories and none of it would’ve been possible without you guys however now feels like the right time to pass it on and let someone else take on the best job in the world 🥺,” they continued.

“We’ll always be part of the Love Island family, and we can’t wait to see how the podcast continues to grow and evolve. Meeting the islanders, diving into every twist and turn, and our annual trips to the villa have been nothing short of unforgettable.”

“THANK YOU to everyone who tuned in and chose to spend your mornings with us, your support has meant everything! And finally to the teams at ITV and Lifted who make this show possible, you’re the best! Love, Amy & Indiyah xxxx 💕🌴💋,” they added.
