Lawrence Jones raved about Sydney Sweeney on Fox & Friends
Sydney Sweeney continues to be fawned over by conservative reporters amid her controversial American Eagle Outfitters ad.
On Fox & Friends on Monday morning, August, Lawrence Jones gushed about the actress to his co-hosts Charlie Hurt and Sandra Smith about a new video of Sydney at a shooting range. Taran Tactical Innovations, a firearms brand and company based in California founded by Hollywood tactical weapons trainer Taran Butler, posted a video on their Instagram of Friday, August 1.
The video plays on the American Eagle advert, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” by saying the Euphoria star has “great splits and double taps,” which is known shooting terminology. “Splits” is the duration of time measured between shots on the same target while “double tap” is the two shots fired in succession at the same target. Sydney was applauded by her shooting time of 9:21 within the clip.
“You love to see it,” Lawrence said on the morning Fox News show. “For me, as a single guy, anytime I see a young woman that can shoot, her value goes up. That means I can take her home to Texas. She understands — that means when I’m away from the family, she’s gonna protect the family. And I think this is beautiful.”
Lawrence complimented Sydney in a new shooting video
“They tried to destroy this woman and her value is going up. She is just not beautiful, but she can shoot too? We’re done here. It’s just beautiful,” he added.
The co-hosts were previously talking about President Donald Trump’s response to the ad as well. On Sunday, August 3, Trump answered some press questions on the runway, before boarding Air Force One in Allentown, Pennsylvania. A reporter told told him that Sydney was a reportedly a registered Republican.
“She’s a registered Republican? Oh, now I love her ad!” Trump said.
“You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans,” he added. “That’s what I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic!”
Many outlets have reported that Sydney is a registered Republican since June 2024 according to publicly available records.

This is all comes as American Eagle unveiled a large ad campaign featuring the 27-year-old. One commercial in particular, which had Sydney speaking about her “genes,” as the company used wordplay of “genes” and “jeans” provoked huge backlash.
The ad was blasted for “Nazi propaganda” and promoting “eugenics” as well as “white supremacy” as they had Sydney—white, thin, and blue-eyed blonde woman—talking about having great genes/jeans. This backlash has prompted conservatives and right-wingers to ferociously support Sydney and the ad.
