Strictly Come Dancing star Amber Davies has reflected on her journey throughout the competition, saying the show came into her life “with a vengeance”.

The TV personality is partnered with Nikita Kuzmin on Strictly, and is days away from her last dance as she vies for the glitterball trophy.

During an appearance on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two tonight (Tuesday 16 December), Amber was left in tears as she spoke about her final few days on the show.

Moments into her conversation with host Fleur East, Amber reflected on making it to the final this year.

“It makes me want to cry,” she admitted. “I can’t believe I’m here, just the way that we started.”

The West End star was called in to Strictly days before the live shows began, as a replacement for Dani Dyer who suffered an ankle injury.

Wiping away tears, she added: “I just don’t want it to be over.”

Amber and Nikita are now going up against George Clarke and partner Alexis Warr, and Karen Carney with Carlos Gu.

Despite making it to the final, the former Love Island winner has had to face the dance-off before, including last weekend, which saw Balvinder Sopal eliminated, and the one before, where Lewis Cope was sent home.

Elsewhere on It Takes Two, Amber discovered she’d broken a record, and was left gobsmacked.

Fleur told her: “Amber, you’re the first ever Strictly celebrity to receive a hat-trick of perfect 40s three weeks in a row.”

“Really?” a gobsmacked Amber replied, as Nikita said: “No way! That’s really cool!”

“Oh my goodness, I didn’t know that. I can’t believe that,” Amber went on, clearly stunned.

Ending her segment, Amber wept as she spoke of how much the experience had meant to her.

She said: “This is the last few days, and I’m so grateful. My alarm went off this morning… I’m such a crier at the minute. I jumped out of bed because I was thinking, ‘Today’s the last Tuesday,’ so I just want to cherish every single moment that I have left with you.”

Bursting into tears again, she laughed: “Why am I acting like I’m never going to see you again? I’m really bad at saying goodbye.

“The Strictly bubble is bursting. It came into my life with a vengeance and now it feels like it’s leaving just as quickly.

“I’ve loved every single second of it, I’m going to miss it so much.”
