Netflix has just uploaded all four series of a popular American crime drama that’s set to be your next binge-watch.

For enthusiasts unsure what to stream next after Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, the platform has them sorted with 46 episodes of this underappreciated series that concluded its fourth series on Fox last year.

The Cleaning Lady features Élodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, a Cambodian-Filipino surgeon who finds herself stranded in Las Vegas after her visa expires, along with her son Luca and sister-in-law Fiona (portrayed by Martha Millan).

Compelled to make a drastic decision to provide care for her critically ill son, Thony is employed as a cleaner for the mob by influential gangster Arman Morales (Adan Canto).

Although The Cleaning Lady was regrettably cancelled after four series, the show has a strong contingent of fans who endorse it as one of the most compelling new crime series of the 2020s.

Apart from its 10-part first series, each instalment consists of 12 45 minute episodes, making it the perfect binge while you await new Netflix releases such as Beef series two, Unchosen, and Apex, all arriving next month.

One 10/10 review of the series on IMDb stated: “It’s been a long time since any series has captivated me so much and offered me such a mix of suspense, drama and emotional depth.

“In short, The Cleaning Lady is an extraordinary series for me that completely captivated me. After a long time, I am truly satisfied with something I have watched and I will gladly recommend it to everyone!”

Another enthusiast revealed they were “obsessed” and “hooked” on the series, making an appeal for a fifth season.

“Thony De La Rosa’s gripping journey keeps me coming back, and adding the absolutely delectable Santiago Cabrera [as Jorge Sanchez] (that man is beyond gorgeous) to balance the good vs. evil struggle? That’s a match made in heaven.”

Someone else characterised The Cleaning Lady as “a grounded crime drama carried by an outstanding lead performance”.

“The Cleaning Lady is one of those shows that quietly hooks you and doesn’t let go,” they continued. “What starts as a crime drama becomes a tense, emotional survival story, and it works because it feels grounded and real.

“Élodie Yung carries the series on her shoulders. Her performance is controlled, intense, and believable. She doesn’t overact, doesn’t chase sympathy, she earns it.
“You can see the fear, intelligence, and desperation in her eyes, especially in moments where dialogue is minimal. That’s real acting.”

And a final admirer bemoaned: “Sorry to see Fox give up on this quality series. I enjoyed every episode of the last four seasons.” Could The Cleaning Lady enjoy a resurgence of success now that it’s available on Netflix?
