A reality television personality associated with Love Island has died following an officer-involved shooting during a traffic stop on Thursday night, according to local authorities.
Police said officers attempted to pull over a vehicle shortly after 10 p.m. after allegedly observing a traffic violation at a busy intersection. During the stop, the situation reportedly escalated rapidly, resulting in an officer discharging their firearm.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene within minutes and immediately began providing medical assistance. The individual was transported in critical condition to a nearby hospital, but officials later confirmed that the reality star died shortly after arrival.
In a preliminary statement, police said: “Officers conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle failing to obey traffic signals. During the encounter, circumstances escalated, leading to the use of force. The individual was transported to hospital, where they later died.”
Authorities have not yet released further details about what led to the shooting. Standard procedure requires an independent investigation whenever an officer-involved shooting occurs, and officials confirmed that an external review has already been launched.

Representatives for the television personality’s family issued a short statement expressing their grief and requesting privacy during what they described as an “unimaginable tragedy.”
Fans of the show reacted with shock as news of the incident spread online, with many expressing condolences and calling for transparency as the investigation continues.
The network associated with Love Island acknowledged the reports but declined to comment further while authorities review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officials say additional information, including body camera footage and witness accounts, will likely be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
The case remains under active review.
