London – After an eventful year, which included a shocking breast cancer diagnosis, television legend Davina McCall is reportedly keen to push ahead with an immediate wedding to her long-term fiancé, celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas, early in the New Year.
Davina, 57, and Michael, 52, have been together since 2018. In September, Davina confirmed their engagement took place in July during a romantic clifftop proposal in Ibiza. However, just four months later, sad news followed as Davina revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had already undergone surgery.
No Time for Delaying Joy
Now, sources close to the couple have revealed details of Davina and Michael’s impending nuptials, indicating that the smitten pair “see no point in waiting” to officially tie the knot.
An insider shared with New! magazine: “After all she’s been through, Davina feels she can’t take anything for granted. Not just one, but two health scares (including a previous brain tumour and the cancer diagnosis) really send home the poignant message of who and what really matters.”
The source affirmed: “Neither Michael nor Davina want to wait. They are both in their fifties, Davina has been married before, and they want to make it happen as soon as possible.”
Intimate Ceremony, Big Bash to Follow

Although Davina had previously expressed a desire for a large wedding, the ceremony with Michael is expected to be quite small and intimate, taking place at the start of the New Year.
The guest list is claimed to feature only the closest circle, particularly those who have “helped Davina” through her recent tough months.
“She doesn’t want too much of a fuss. It’ll be focusing on the couple and their love for each other,” the source revealed. “They’ll have a big showbiz party later, but right now, their top priority is getting married early next year.”
