Benny Blanco’s mother Sandra Levin was involved in a scary robbery at her Studio City, Calif., home this week, forcing her to barricade herself in a bathroom during the break-in, police said.

The robbery took place around 9:15 p.m. local time, Monday, Nov. 24, when three men broke into her home while she was there alone, ABC7 reported. The men allegedly entered by breaking a sliding glass door. When Levin heard the noise, she ran upstairs, locked herself inside a bathroom and called 911 for help, according to the outlet, citing the Los Angeles Police Department.

While the victim was not identified by name, neighbors and property records reportedly confirmed it was Levin’s home, according to ABC7. She allegedly told police that during the robbery, the suspects had allegedly kicked down the bathroom door.

When police arrived, the suspects had already left the home and are still at large. They were wearing dark clothing and masks when they entered the home, according to NBC Los Angeles.

Police said that Blanco’s mother was unharmed in the incident, though several rooms in her home were “ransacked,” and unspecified property was stolen from the residence, ABC7 reported.

PEOPLE has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department and a representative for Blanco for comment on the incident.

Over the years, Blanco, 37, has been open about his close relationship with his mother. In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE, he described her as his “best friend.”

Levin has also been very supportive of Blanco’s relationship with his new wife Selena Gomez, whom he married in September. Blanco’s mom is such a fan of Gomez, in fact, that she wears a special memento of the couple around her neck.
