Who doesn’t love Sadie Sink from Stranger Things? There’s a reason she stands out every time she’s on screen. She has this effortless way of pulling you into a story, even in the quiet moments when nothing big is happening.
Although she has starred in many projects across various genres, there’s just something about those darker, more intense roles that she’s taken on in her acting career so far. When things get emotional or unsettling, Sink shines the most, making it impossible not to stay locked in. That’s why her performances pair so well with horror.
If you’re a Sadie Sink fan looking for your next binge, you should definitely check out these three horror movies currently streaming on Netflix. They are perfect picks for those who have been missing her since Stranger Things wrapped up.
Fear Street Part 2: 1978 (2021)
Directed by: Leigh Janiak
Written by: Janiak and Zak Olkewicz
Cast: Sink, Emily Rudd, Ryan Simpkins, McCabe Slye, Ted Sutherland, Gillian Jacobs, Kiana Madeira, Benjamin Flores Jr., Olivia Scott Welch, Chiara Aurelia
Based on: Fear Street book series by R. L. Stine
Sink has this way of completely owning the screen, and in Fear Street Part 2: 1978, she’s completely in her element. Set in the summer of 1978, Fear Street Part 2: 1978 takes us to Camp Nightwing, a summer camp in the cursed town of Shadyside that should’ve been all sunshine, campfires, and friendship, but, of course, it’s anything but. From the moment the campers arrive, things start feeling off.
Sink’s character, Ziggy Berman, is trying to enjoy a normal summer while navigating all the typical camp drama. But normal quickly flies out the window when Camp Nightwing turns into a nightmare. A mysterious killer starts picking off campers one by one, turning what should have been lazy canoe rides and campfire stories into a tense fight for survival.
Eli (2019)
Directed by: Ciarán Foy
Written by: David Chirchirillo, Ian Goldberg, and Richard Naing
Cast: Sink, Charlie Shotwell, Max Martini, Lili Taylor, Kelly Reilly
If you’re in the mood for a horror movie that’s equal parts creepy, thrilling, and has a shocking twist ending, Eli is the perfect pick. At first glance, it might seem like a story about a boy with a rare disease trying to get cured at an isolated medical facility, but as the tension builds, it becomes clear that this is anything but a normal hospital.
As the story unfolds, Eli, a young boy suffering from a rare autoimmune disease, arrives at a high-tech medical facility that promises to cure him. For the first time in his life, he can experience the simple joys most kids take for granted. But it doesn’t take long for the creepiness to kick in, and Eli isn’t alone in noticing it.
He befriends Haley, played by Sink, a brave and clever girl who’s determined to uncover the truth behind the facility. Together, they begin to unravel a series of disturbing events.
A Sacrifice (2024)
Directed and written by: Jordan Scott
Cast: Sink, Eric Bana, Sylvia Hoeks, Sophie Rois, Stephan Kampwirth, Jonas Dassler, Lara Feith
Based on: Tokyo by Nicholas Hogg
A Sacrifice is more of a thriller flick than anything, but it has its horror elements, creeping in through the cult’s disturbing rituals, the eerie atmosphere of the isolated facility, and the relentless tension that keeps you on edge.
The story follows Ben Monroe, a psychologist who studies cults, whose life takes a terrifying turn when his teenage daughter, Mazzy, unexpectedly becomes involved with one of the very cults he’s investigating. Suddenly, his work is no longer just academic. It’s deeply personal, as he races against time to protect his daughter from the sinister influence of a charismatic and manipulative leader.
Sink portrays the role of Mazzy, Ben’s teen daughter who is both intelligent and resilient. However, she finds herself drawn into the cult’s web of manipulation.
