Netflix is presently screening one of the most beloved teen drama films of the 2010s that enthusiasts have labelled “perfection”.
Helmed by Greta Gerwig, who directed the box office smash Barbie, the actress and film-maker secured her initial mainstream triumph as a director with 2017’s Lady Bird, featuring Saoirse Ronan as a misunderstood teenager coming of age in Sacramento, California.
Whilst she navigates turbulent secondary school friendships and her initial encounters with romance, Christine, who rechristens herself ‘Lady Bird’, must also grapple with a complicated relationship with her mother, Marion (portrayed by Laurie Metcalf).
Co-starring Lucas Hedges (Sorry, Baby), Tracy Letts (A House of Dynamite), and Beanie Feldstein (Only Murders in the Building), the production also showcases one of A-list star Timothée Chalamet’s breakout performances, alongside Kathryn Newton, star of Ready or Not 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
