I’m A Celebrity winner Angry Ginge has addressed his estranged father after being crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! champion, Angry Ginge, has taken a swipe at his father  after being crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday.

The 24-year-old YouTuber, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was greeted by his delighted mum, Michelle – who brought up Ginge and his sister as a single parent – on the famous bridge Down Under and later told the Mirror he’d entered I’m A Celeb to make her proud.

However, he remained silent about his estranged father, but has now shared a post on Instagram, making his sentiments crystal clear.

The star joked his dad would be livid at witnessing his triumph after abandoning the family, reports the Mirror.

Over a clip of actor Matthew McConaughey weeping in the film Interstellar, as he watches his estranged daughter in an old video, a fan wrote: “Angry Ginge’s dad watching his past self walk out on his son, who would go on to win I’m A Celebrity.”

Responding to the clip, Ginge replied: “HAHAHAHAHAHAH” before posting a shot of a massive plate of steak and chips as he savoured all his luxury hotel on the Gold Coast has to offer.

Ginge spoke openly about his childhood on a council estate in Manchester to the Mirror after departing the jungle as he disclosed that money was tight.

Confessing he contemplated leaving I’m A Celeb, but remained because he wished to make his mum proud, he revealed: “I will never forget where I came from, and I think because I started literally from the bottom and watched everyone around me from my mates to their parents, my mum, everyone had to graft their way to get wherever it was.”

Finances were stretched and Ginge’s mother had to juggle multiple jobs to keep them going. Despite this, when the star turned 18, Michelle was compelled to sell the family house and relocate somewhere more affordable. He moved in with his Nana nearby to relieve the burden.

Consequently, Ginge explains his goal from the beginning was to make his mother proud. He reflected: “She told me I’d done that…but then she also said: ‘I was already proud of you…you didn’t need to go on the show to do that.”

With nearly a million YouTube subscribers and numerous lucrative projects undoubtedly lined up following his jungle triumph, the possibilities are endless for Ginge.

The Mirror also disclosed how appearing on the programme has actually cost him over £100,000 in missed brand partnerships in the run-up to Christmas.

An insider revealed: “His fee for doing the show was nothing compared to the money he could have earned on the outside. But he just wanted to make his mum proud.”
