Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has revealed that Lewis Hamilton is experiencing one of the finest chapters of his life, attributing the British driver’s contentment partly to his blossoming romance with Kim Kardashian.

The 45-year-old reality television star and the seven-time world champion have become one of motorsport’s most talked-about couples since going public with their relationship.

Hamilton departed Wolff’s Mercedes outfit to join Ferrari at the start of 2025.

Despite now competing for a rival constructor, the Austrian team boss maintains a close bond with his former driver, with the pair frequently travelling together on private jets between grands prix.

Hamilton and Kardashian have made several public appearances together in recent weeks, effectively confirming their romance.

The pair were spotted at Coachella, the renowned California music festival, and subsequently shared glimpses of a trip to Tokyo on social media.

Speaking to The Independent, Wolff expressed genuine pleasure at seeing Hamilton thriving both personally and professionally.

“Aren’t we all in pursuit of happiness and fulfilment? I see that positiveness in him (Hamilton). He is in a good place and that makes me happy because he deserves to be in a good place,” the Mercedes boss said.

Hamilton secured his maiden podium for the Scuderia last month in Shanghai, demonstrating he remains competitive at the highest level.

Wolff believes Hamilton’s positive mindset directly influences his performances on track.

“He enjoys driving these cars. It challenges him but at the same time he is quick. Is he chasing the eighth? Certainly. But it is more about chasing to enjoy what he is doing,” the Austrian explained.

The pursuit of a record-breaking eighth world title continues, with the Briton previously missing out on that crown in controversial circumstances five years ago.
