Everything We Know About Cardi B’s New Album

“Just a ‘lil taste of the drama.” – Cardi B

Cardi B’s sophomore album, AM I THE DRAMA? is on the way following a six-year hiatus. The next single? A nod to Jay-Z proving she is not coming to play this era.

On August 11, the “Outside” rapper finally unveiled the cover art to AM I THE DRAMA. Shared in an Instagram post, Cardi B is covered in crystals — literally from her makeup to her earrings — in what appears to be very Schiaparelli-coded. Fans are loving every moment of their faves return. “The roll out is EATING!!,” one commented.

Just a few days prior, she teased her next single “Just a ‘lil taste of the drama. ‘IMAGINARY PLAYERS’ THIS FRIDAY,” she captioned the post. See below.

Earlier this summer, Cardi attended Everyday People and teased a new song, “Outside.” Fans in the crowd loved it, further building the hype for her next project. For those wondering, she announced that she submitted the album to Atlantic Records. In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote, “Now, things are beyond my hands. Everything is in Atlantic [Records’] hands.” She later added on Instagram Live: “I’m finally feeling ready… Y’all waited long enough. It’s go time.”

As for who’s on the album, the “WAP rapper previously shared, “The features on my album are really good,” she shared on X. “I’m working with artists, some that I have worked [with] before and some that I haven’t worked [with] before.”

Cardi B’s fanbase, Bardigang, is growing impatient, however, and running “Bodak Yellow” back for old times’ sake. The single made records, such as making Cardi B the second female rapper to hit number one with a solo song. The last person to do this was Lauryn Hill in 1998 with the single “Doo Wop (That Thing).” A fan tweeted, “Cardi B single-handedly revived female rap with Bodak Yellow. And I’ll die on that hill.”

Stay tuned for updates.
