Meghan Markle has been embroiled in a branding battle in recent weeks, but some of her past comments about the Royal Family have resurfaced at an inopportune time

Meghan Markle’s old blog post has resurfaced, seemingly taking a jab at the Royal Family.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, launched her rebranded lifestyle brand, As Ever, after facing trademark issues with its original name, American Riviera Orchard.

The new venture offers an array of luxury items, from fruit preserves and candles to home goods and beauty products.

However, as Meghan announced her new beginning, past remarks from her now-defunct blog, The Tig, have come back into the spotlight, particularly one comment about the Princess of Wales that is raising eyebrows.

In a 2014 entry, long before she met Prince Harry, Meghan commented on the media frenzy surrounding William and Kate’s 2011 Royal wedding, stating in a pointed eight-word critique: “Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy.”

She continued: “Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”

This commentary could easily be seen as a subtle yet sharp critique of the fairy tale narrative often linked with the monarchy.

At the time, Meghan was starring in Suits and managing her lifestyle blog, where she discussed food, travel, fashion, and her thoughts on empowerment.

Her post contrasted the fascination with Royal weddings with her own childhood admiration for strong, independent female characters like She-Ra, “a sword-wielding royal rebel.”

Now, as she steps back into the lifestyle arena with As Ever, Meghan has suggested she’s ready to reclaim her voice. “I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years,” she revealed in a launch video, referencing the limitations she experienced as a working Royal.

The brand revival arrives just weeks before her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, and comes after Prince Harry’s explosive revelations in Spare, including friction between Meghan and Kate leading up to the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding.

Through her fresh business endeavor, Meghan seems to be reshaping her post-royal story, yet her previous palace conflicts are making waves in the headlines once more.
