Jesse Watters has been labeled a “misogynistic pig” by Fox News viewers after he suggested “single women” were responsible for Zohran Mamdani’s “socialist takeover.”

Mamdani, a self-proclaimed socialist, emerged victorious in the New York mayoral election on Tuesday, defeating former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa. With his win, Mamdani made history as New York’s first Muslim mayor and the youngest in over a century.

Watters discussed Mamdani’s victory on Wednesday’s episode of Fox’s The Five, suggesting women who “haven’t gotten married” were the driving force behind it. Watters started his rant by stating, “Let’s talk about these single women. Because they were the force here.”

“You are in an apartment, it’s small, it’s very small and it’s very expensive,” Watters continued, painting a picture of the type of woman who voted for Mamdani.

He added, “And you haven’t gotten married and had kids and moved out to the suburbs like everybody else.

“So you are in a tiny apartment and the apartment is getting really expensive because all of these migrants are here now. And it’s also expensive because of the green new deal, so your utilities are high and you got the wrong degree.”

Watters suggested that the women who, according to him, voted for Mamdani “should have gotten a degree in like chemistry, biology, finance, computer science. Something useful in this high tech AI economy.”

His rant continued, “No, you got a degree in, like, southeast Asian feminist literature and you’re wondering why you can’t advance in this economy. And so, you’re overqualified and you are underpaid and living in the most expensive city in the world. And the Democrats made it this way.”

The Fox News host acknowledged he could understand why women voted for Mamdani. “You’re choosing a guy,” he began. “Cuomo, who’s just the laziest person on Earth, versus a guy in his 30s who’s in the clubs and he’s eating kebabs with the cabbies. And you’re like, ‘This guy’s fun and he’s positive.’”

Watters grew increasingly agitated as he went on, “So you vote for this guy and he’s making promises. Are these promises gonna happen? No.”

A segment from The Five was posted on X, with users blasting Watters in the comments. One individual wrote, “Any woman, single or married, should tell you to go to hell. And this is polite. How dare you? Sexism has never been so blatant in a “TV” person. Journalist or anchor is not a word applicable to you. #Sexism #FoxNews”

“How can the women on this panel, even Fox women, tolerate this misogynistic pig every single day?” another demanded, while a third user slammed, “You could not cram more misogyny and xenophobia in one run on sentence if you tired…”

“This is pure, weaponized misogyny from this incel,” another viewer fumed. “Jesse Watters isn’t analyzing politics, he’s mocking women for existing outside his 1950s fantasy. The idea that single, educated women are the problem because they didn’t “move to the suburbs” or “marry right” says everything about Fox’s worldview.”

They added, “Maybe women aren’t the issue, jackass maybe it’s the small minds still terrified of their independence.”

Someone else slammed Watters as “so disrespectful.” They posted, “Republican women, are you just “pick-me” girls?

“Speak up when a man trashes you for being single. It’s not a crime. Meanwhile, desperate GOP creeps like Jesse flock to OnlyFans because rhetoric like this repels women and then they wonder why they’re single. Oh and btw, there are more single men than woman in the 30-34 age group buddy.”
