A young mother-of-two who was found dead a week after she went missing will be laid to rest on Tuesday.

Caitlin Green’s body was discovered in the Princes Street area of Lurgan on Saturday afternoon – her death is not being treated as suspicious.

The 24-year-old is remembered in a funeral notice as the “loving mummy” of Cadáin and Clíodhna and the “dearly beloved daughter” of Stephanie and Barry.

“Much loved sister of Jason, Lela, Patrick and Lily-Rose and beloved granddaughter of Siobhan Green,” it adds.

Caitlin’s body will repose at her home address in Gilford on Monday evening where family and friends have been invited to pay their respects.

A Requiem Mass will take place at 11am on Tuesday.

The funeral cortege will leave the property and make its way to St Patrick & St Colman’s Church in Laurencetown around an hour before the service.

Caitlin will be buried afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

“Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul,” the funeral notice reads.

“Very deeply regretted by her loving children, parents, brothers, sisters, granny and entire family circle.”

Donations in lieu of flowers have been requested to Changing Lives c/o Jack McLearnon & Son Funeral Directors.

It comes as Caitlin’s sister Lela expressed an emotional tribute on social media and vowed to “forever remember your perfect beautiful smile and laugh”.

“Rest in peace Caitlin, hard to believe you’re gone,” she added.

“Side by side, or miles apart, siblings will always be connected at heart.

“Without a fail, my big sister always lifted me up all my life – now it’s my turn to lift her.

“This saying really stuck; A sister is someone who loves you from the heart, no matter what you do wrong and that was just Caitlin all over.

” I love you. Not goodbye, it’s see you later”.

Caitlin’s family were informed on Saturday that a body had been found amid an ongoing search effort.

It wasn’t until Sunday that a post-mortem examination formally confirmed the identity.

Police offered condolences to Caitlin’s family as her brother Jason took to Facebook to pay tribute to his sister.

“I love you so much Caitlin,” he wrote. “RIP little sis.”

The emotional update prompted replies from friends who expressed shock and sadness as they offered condolences.

“She loved you so so much Lela and she’s watching over you always,” one user wrote.

Another posted: “Sending you so much love, Caitlin will be with you always”.

Caitlin’s mum Stephanie had set up a Facebook page dedicated to the effort to bring her daughter home.

Detectives had issued a fresh appeal for information on Friday and urged local residents to check privately-owned sheds and outbuildings to help locate the missing person who was last seen alive at around 12.30pm on Saturday, January 31.

Caitlin vanished after leaving a friend’s home in the Derry Street/Lord Lurgan Park area dressed in black leggings and a grey Regatta jacket and had not been in contact with relatives since the day before.

Her body was discovered just hours after her mum updated the ‘Bring Caitlin Home’ page with a desperate plea for the community to gather in the area where her daughter was last sighted “to even just be there” for her.

The Friends of St John’s Primary School Gilford Facebook page said the entire school community “is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Caitlin Green, beloved sister of our dear pupil, Lily-Rose”.

“We extend our deepest and most sincere sympathies to Lily-Rose, her family, and to all of Caitlin’s friends and loved ones at this heartbreaking time,” it adds.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May Caitlin rest in peace. St John, pray for her.”

A Gilford Community Events account said the whole village “is devastated by the tragic loss of Caitlin Green”.

“What began with hope, prayers, and the community coming together to search has ended in heartbreak beyond words,” the post continues.

“On behalf of the Gilford Community Events Group, we want to express our deepest and most sincere sympathy to her family and loved ones.

“Our hearts are completely broken for you.

“This loss has touched every home in our village. We stand together in grief, in support, and in solidarity with the family at this unimaginable time.

“You are not alone our entire community is with you. Rest in peace, beautiful girl.”
