A woman has been arrested after a nine‑month‑old boy was found dead at a home in Adelaide’s north.

Emergency crews were called to the Midlow Rd property at Elizabeth Downs about 8pm on Wednesday after reports the infant was unresponsive.

Paramedics tried to revive him but he could not be saved.

Police launched an investigation into the child’s death, with Northern District detectives later charging a 31‑year‑old woman from the home with criminal neglect.

Police have not confirmed if the woman is related to the boy.

She was granted bail and is expected to face Elizabeth Magistrates Court on April 14.

A report will be prepared for the coroner as detectives continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
