Married At First Sight‘s Danny Hewitt has broken his silence after previously unseen footage revealed his true feelings towards ex-wife Bec.

Bec was confronted by shocking footage of Danny sledging her during the experiment, with insults hurled at fellow bride Steph, aired last week on Stan’s MAFS: After the Dinner Party.

“I’m sure most of you hate me and I don’t blame you, I hate myself,” the groom began in a self-filmed video.

Danny took to Instagram to apologise to Bec, Steph, viewers and production for the “offensive” and “horrendous” comments he said.

“I’m so ashamed of myself… I’m so sorry to both of you girls,” he continued.

“I do have a very dry sense of humour and sometimes it can come across wrong, especially on TV, especially to people who don’t know me.

“But I’m not here to make excuses or blame it on a sense of humour, I’m here to own up to my mistakes and just apologise to anyone who watched it, any viewers who watched it and found it offensive, I’m so sorry,” he went on in the video.

“Production, the whole team at MAFS, I let them down, I let so many people down, I just want to apologise to everyone.”

The groom admitted he has “a lot of soul searching to do” after the events that unfolded after the MAFS Reunion.

He even gave fans permission to throw “abuse” back at him in the comments section.

“If you see me on the street, throw tomatoes at me, eggs, whatever. I deserve all of the heat I’m getting at the minute.

“Honestly from the bottom of my heart I’m so sorry to Bec, Steph and anyone who watched it and found it offensive.”

It was during the latest episode of MAFS: After the Dinner Party that Bec viewed “revolting” footage of her ex-husband Danny insulting her after he watched the Final Test.

“You’re telling me that’s the best you can bring me? You ought to be ashamed of yourself,” Danny told producers in the unaired moment.

“I have a f—ing cushy little life, I gave up my life to be here and I could roll into Coles right now, walk up to aisle four, there’s a bird in there and she’ll be better than Bec,” he said among other insults.

Bec was especially horrified because as she explained, as soon as the cameras left, that day was when Danny told her he was falling in love with her.

Looking back, she felt their entire relationship was a lie.

Steph too was horrified by secret conversation of Danny hurling insults at her as the “bikini photo” scandal came to light.

MAFS’ Danny goes off at Steph in unaired video

Danny accused Steph of “trying to get some air time” by bringing up the photo and was heard calling Steph a “f—ing little skank”. He vowed to “never speak” to her again.

Steph couldn’t help by laugh at the video. If anything, she found it ridiculous he was accusing her of “air time”.

After learning the three months of the relationship was a lie, Bec was the one that accused Danny for coming onto MAFS “for fame”.
