Rapper B Green lost his life last year after a police officer fatally shot him 17 times in Atlanta. With the cop still employed, his family are looking for justice.
The officer, Gerald Walker, was off-duty working a security job when he shot and killed Green (real name Linton Blackwell) in the car park of the 5 Paces Inn bar in Buckhead. An autopsy report revealed that 44-year-old Green had been struck 17 times in the back. Police claimed Walker shot the rapper after responding to reports of a “disruptive person.”
Walker allegedly issued commands “in reference to a gun” before shooting, with the officer claiming he saw Green attempting to return to the bar after putting an item in the small of his back.”

In a public comment on February 2nd, Veronica Grant said, “I want to understand why this officer, Gerald Walker, is not being held accountable for my brother’s death. He was murdered and shot 17 times; he’s still working [and] being paid.”
According to Capital B News, Santana Lambert told the council, “We gotta stop the killing. And not just the community killing each other, we gotta stop the police from killing us. We gotta stop the police from harming our citizens of Atlanta.”
Just last week, it was revealed that at the time of Green’s death, Walker was being investigated for another shooting. On March 26th, the same year, he shot 42-year-old Travis Walker with a shotgun outside an auto repair shop in Sylvan Hills.
His cousin, Jimmy Hill, also said at City Hall, “This is not about a lack of information or power, this is about a lack of political will, lack of courage.”
He added, “Why haven’t you used your power to stop officers with repeat violations from staying on the force? You have the power and you have to use it. You refuse to use it. Until you do, your condolences are really just to make yourself feel better.”
