The former No Limit rapper has been behind bars ever since he was convicted of second-degree murder in 2009.
C-Murder’s appeal of his 2009 second-degree murder conviction has been denied for a third time.
According to WVUE, the Louisiana Supreme Court refused to review the Louisiana rapper and former No Limit Records signee’s 2009 conviction this week, leaving him stuck behind bars for the indefinite future. The court unanimously agreed not to review his appeal.
C-Murder (real name Corey Miller) has challenged the sentence repeatedly and has maintained his innocence throughout the years. His case got renewed attention in 2018 when two witnesses recanted their statements and claimed they were pressured into identifying him as the shooter in the 2002 murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas.

The Life or Death rapper appealed the conviction in 2011 and 2013, and both times the Louisiana Supreme Court upheld his conviction. The brother of both Silkk the Shocker and Master P, Miller was arrested in connection with the murder of Steve Thomas in 2002. He was sentenced to life in prison in 2009, and has remained incarcerated at the Louisiana State Penitentiary ever since.
Two individuals who served as key witnesses in the case have recanted their testimonies. His case was featured on a 2018 episode of Investigation Discovery Reasonable Doubt, in which witness Kenneth Jordan claims he was pressured to give false testimony or he would serve a 10-year prison sentence. That same year, witness Darnell Jordan also recanted his testimony and said that he was detained when he initially declined to testify, per Billboard.
Despite his incarceration, C-Murder has been able to offer fans occasional updates. In December last year, he shared a thank you letter to fans via Instagram.
“To everybody rockin’ with me and holdin’ me down — your love ain’t unnoticed,” he said. “Every prayer, every letter, every post, every time you say my name in a room I can’t walk into… it give me strength when the days get heavy. This fight ain’t easy, but your support remind me I’m not fighting alone. We still standing on truth. We still believing in freedom. We still pushing for justice. I’m grateful for every ounce of love you show me. From the heart — thank you.”
