🚨 LATEST UPDATE: Suspect Simon Peter Carman Suddenly Puts Forward a New Argument Following the De-ath of a Thai Teenager — And One Detail Is Sparking Intense Debate

Simon Peter Carman is facing the death penalty in Thailand after allegedly killing a 17-year-old girl and stuffing her body in a suitcase.

An Australian man accused of murder in Thailand claims he was acting in self-defence when he allegedly killed a 17-year-old girl before panicking and stuffing her body in a suitcase.

Simon Peter Carman, 46, is now facing the death penalty by lethal injection, while the victim’s family says they want him executed.

Camped outside a police station in Thailand, the grieving parents of the dead teenager expressed their raw pain and anger.

“I am deeply saddened,” her stepmother Oradee Bussarakum said. “I told the police I want him executed. As a mother, I don’t know what else to say. I just want him executed.”

Bussarakum revealed she even asked police if she could physically confront Carman.

“I asked the police if I could hit him, if I could beat him,” she said. “Please, just let me. The police told me not to, that he would face the full consequences regardless.”

Carman was arrested at Bangkok airport, allegedly trying to flee the country. During a police interview shortly after his arrest, he spoke directly to the girl’s family.

“I feel bad for what happened to your daughter,” he said. “It was out of my control.”

Local police say Carman met the teenager in Pattaya — two hours south of Bangkok — in the red-light district. Early Thursday morning, the pair were seen heading up to his apartment, but the 17-year-old never made it out alive.

According to local media reports, Carman claims the pair argued over 500 baht, just over $20. He alleges the teenager wanted to leave and held a knife to his neck before a struggle ensued.

Local media reports the teenager was choked to death, which Carman claims was in self-defence.

Police say evidence shows Carman was later seen wheeling a large suitcase out of his building before strapping it to the back of a moped and allegedly dumping it in scrub near a train line.

A day later, a missing person’s report was filed. The 17-year-old’s body was discovered inside the suitcase.

“We just hoped it wouldn’t turn out the way we feared,” Bussarakum said. “Now our eyes are swollen from crying.”

Carman is now facing a series of charges, including murder, concealing and moving a body, and abducting a minor for indecent purposes.

7NEWS understands Carman previously worked as a truckie between WA and regional Victoria, with ties to Ballarat, but moved to Thailand last year.

A court date has not yet been announced as police complete their investigation, which could take months.
