The palace hasn’t clarified when Andrew will move or whether Marsh Farm is his definite destination

A large van arrived at the former Prince Andrew’s Royal Lodge home as renovations are underway at Marsh Farm, reported to be his new house after he’s exiled from his longtime residence.
On Jan. 14, The Sun reported that a “removal truck” drove through the gates of Royal Lodge in Windsor at 10:30 a.m., local time.
Photos obtained by the outlet showed the huge white Mercedes van on the road, and The Sun said the truck left after nearly three hours.
Andrew, 65, was ordered to surrender his residence at Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion which he’s leased since 2003, in October 2025 after his brother King Charles stripped his royal titles in an unprecedented step amid renewed scrutiny around Andrew’s ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein. The former Duke of York’s relationship with convicted sex offender Epstein set his step back from public life in motion in 2019, though Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

The large van was spotted at Royal Lodge two days after The Sun published photos of renovation work underway at Marsh Farm, the smaller property on the Sandringham Estate that’s widely cited as Andrew’s next residence.
The outlet said that at least six workers were on site on Jan. 12, working both inside and outside of the building. A small digger was pictured on the property, and the report alleged that Sky TV was being installed.
Marsh Farm is a few miles from Sandringham House, one of King Charles’ private royal residences, and features a main house with a gravel driveway, some outbuildings and gated fence, the Daily Mail said. The farm is much more modest than Royal Lodge, and it reportedly needs extensive work.
“The snow or rain hasn’t delayed the work on Marsh Farm, but it still needs a lot of attention to make it habitable,” a source told The Sun. “But one thing for sure is that it is a lot, lot smaller and less luxurious than Royal Lodge.”

The outlet further reported that Andrew is due to move initially into another property at Sandringham and stay there until the Marsh Farm refurbishment is complete around Easter. The Sun said that he will move into the temporary home as soon as the end of January and before his birthday on Feb. 19.
The palace hasn’t clarified when the former Prince Andrew, now called Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, will officially move out of Royal Lodge or whether Marsh Farm is his definite destination.
When it was announced on Oct. 30 that Andrew would vacate Royal Lodge, PEOPLE understood that he would relocate to a property on the private Sandringham estate. Any future accommodation will be privately funded by the King, and it’s understood that the move will happen as soon as practicable.
Andrew was photographed horseback riding with a companion on the Windsor estate in the rain on Jan. 13, keeping up with a longtime hobby.
Exclusively speaking to PEOPLE, royal biographer Robert Jobson questioned whether Marsh Farm was a viable long-term solution amid Andrew’s exile.

“I just can’t see him being on an isolated farm in Sandringham,” says Jobson, whose latest book, Windsor Legacy, was published on Jan. 6.
Jobson suggested that Andrew could move overseas, following King Charles’ recent meeting with the ruler of Bahrain.
“The King saw the King of Bahrain the other day. One never knows — it could be a place where Andrew gets the recognition of being the second son of Queen Elizabeth, rather than this,” he says. “Other disgraced people have gone to the Middle East. Andrew did a lot of business in Bahrain, and he’s still relatively young.”
