👑 LATEST UPDATE: Prince Harry Is Reconsidering His Return to the UK With Meghan Markle and Their Children — Because One Setback May Have Changed Everything…

Prince Harry is reconsidering whether to bring Meghan and their two children to Britain next month following the rejection of his request for police protection.

The Duke of Sussex learned on Friday that his application for a security package had been denied, just days before the family was due to arrive for what would have been their first visit together in four years.

The planned five-day trip in early July was intended to mark the beginning of a year-long countdown to the Invictus Games, scheduled for Birmingham next summer.

The Duchess of Sussex had been expected to accompany her husband to several public engagements, including visits to Royal Hospital Chelsea and an Invictus event at the National Exhibition Centre.

Their children, Archie and Lilibet, were not scheduled to attend any public appearances.

Sources close to the duke and duchess have accused the Home Office and the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) of “wilfully creating conditions that are making it nearly impossible” for the family to travel safely within Britain.

The duke had anticipated receiving results from a risk management review in March, but was informed last week that all such assessments had been “paused”, according to sources.

Those close to the couple point to three separate incidents over the past year in which fixated individuals came within feet of Prince Harry while he was in the UK.

Due to restrictions on private security powers, protection officers were unable to remove the individuals in some cases.

While the duke is described as “generally pretty robust” about managing such situations given his military background, sources say the primary concern is the potential impact on the children.

The family had accepted an invitation from King Charles to stay at a royal residence during part of their visit, though the specific location has not been disclosed for security reasons.

Police protection would be available while on royal property, but outside those grounds the duke would need to depend entirely on his private security team from California.

Prince Harry is described as “desperate” for Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to spend time with their grandfather.

The King last saw his grandchildren in person during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations four years ago, when the family marked Lilibet’s first birthday together at Frogmore Cottage.

Buckingham Palace has reportedly given assurances that there remains “hope” a meeting between the King and his grandchildren could still take place.

Among the alternatives now being considered is flying the family into Britain for just a single day from mainland Europe, where they are believed to be holidaying.

Prince Harry intends to proceed with his own scheduled commitments, including engagements with charities WellChild, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, and Invictus-related events, though plans involving his wife and children may be altered.

A source close to the family said: “Protective security has always been about risk, not job title. A role may change, but the threats faced because of who someone is, where they come from, and what they have done in service of their country, do not simply disappear.”

A Government spokesman defended the arrangements, stating: “The UK Government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate.

“It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security.”
