The deal between award-winning filmmaker Tyler Perry and Netflix has led to multiple successful films and shows, and that will continue. Netflix has officially sealed the fate of one of Perry’s current shows.

Per Tudum, Netflix has officially renewed Beauty in Black for Season 3. That comes with a caveat, as it will also mark the show’s finale. However, it’s also great news for fans, as it will officially wrap up Kimmie’s story.

Netflix made the announcement on Dec. 11, right as it announced that Season 2, Part 2 will premiere on Mar. 19. The show will continue to show how Kimmie deals with her new job as COO of the titular beauty empire, considering the Bellaries are not happy she’s there.

“Kimmie’s transformation has honestly been one of the highlights of my career so far,” lead star Taylor Polidore Williams said after the renewal news.

“Getting to dive into a character’s evolution is one of my favorite things ever about acting. I think her confidence really stems from Horace. He believed in her from the start, and he’s been coaching her on how to not only survive this family but [also how] to take up her rightful space with them. Now we’re finally watching her step into that power, and it’s so fun to play.”

At the same time as the renewal, Netflix also treated patient fans with a series of first-look photos from Season 2, Part 2.

Perry previously teased about Season 2’s second half: “We left fans on the edge of their seats at the end of Season 1, and we’re thrilled to continue Kimmie’s journey as she steps into her power as the newest member of the Bellarie family. Kimmie exemplifies the spirit of never underestimating the underdog, and I can’t wait for fans to continue to see her story unfold. If you thought Season 1 was a wild ride, you’re not ready for Season 2.”

Beauty in Black stars Williams, Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan.

The show has been a massive success for Netflix, whose partnership with Tyler Perry led to multiple hits, most notably, Straw. Although not all projects scored high reviews, and his latest Madea film is an example of that, they all rushed to the top of the charts.

Beauty in Black Season 1 spent seven weeks ranked in the Top 10, and rushed to No. 1 across 28 countries in its second week. Season 2, Part 1, was also the No. 1 show in 14 countries in the second week of its debut.

Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 2 premieres on Mar. 19, 2026. Season 3 doesn’t have a release date yet.
