“A couple” of alleged victims from South Australia have been identified as part of an investigation into a Sydney childcare worker accused of abusing more than 130 children, federal police say.

SA authorities say they are working closely with Australian Federal Police (AFP), who has charged Hamish Tait with 329 offences relating to the alleged abuse of children over a 16-year period.

On Tuesday, the AFPĀ released a list of 55 locations where Mr Tait had workedĀ between 2009 and 2025.

Most of the centres were in Sydney but the list included a site in a remote Indigenous community in South Australia.

On Thursday, AFP Detective Acting Inspector Emmanuel Tsardoulias said police haveĀ identified victims in South Australia.

“Those enquiries remain ongoing,” he said.

“We have identified a couple in South Australia, however that remains an active part of our investigation.”

SA Education Minister Lucy Hood said it was “horrific” to hear about the allegations.

“My thoughts are with any family that is potentially affected by this offending,” she said.

She said there were “potential victims” in South Australia.

“I can assure South Australians that our [education] department and our government will work closely with the AFP and SAPOL to ensure that every assistance offered to them so that justice can be served in this instance,” she said.

Images of distinctive clothing have been released as authorities attempt to identify victims of a Sydney childcare worker who allegedly abused more than 130 children.

She said the AFP was looking into how long Mr Tait had worked at the school in a voluntary capacity.

“We look forward to hearing more as more information comes to hand from the AFP,” Ms Hood said.

Earlier today, the AFPĀ released seven images of clothingĀ to assist with identifying 16 unknown victims.

Mr Tait’s charges include 162 counts of producing child abuse material, 81 counts of filming a person engaged in a private act without consent and 24 counts of using a child under 14 years for the production of child abuse material.

The matter remains before the courts.
