The world is still in mourning following the tragic death of “Cosby Show” star Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Naturally, his fans, friends, family, and industry colleagues have posted heartfelt tributes since the news of his death broke on July 21. Now, Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played his sister on the famed show, has weighed in.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner passed away on July 20 while on vacation with his family in Costa Rica. Sadly, he drowned, and his official cause of death is listed as accidental asphyxia. His autopsy was completed on July 22. He leaves behind a wife, a daughter, and a slew of friends and family members.
Keshia Knight Pulliam Celebrates The Life of Malcolm-Jamal Warner
“Cosby Show” actress Keshia Knight Pulliam took to her Instagram account on July 27 to pay tribute to Malcolm-Jamal Warner. She said in the caption of the post, “A week ago I lost my big brother, but I gained an angel… I love you… I miss you… We got our girls.”
The post itself contains a video of Malcolm-Jamal Warner on stage playing the bass guitar. Notably, Malcolm-Jamal wasn’t only an actor. He was also a Grammy award-winning musician. It is believed that the video was from a performance at City Winery in Atlanta.
The end of the clip shows two young girls walking with a horse. Many online believe the two girls are Keshia and Malcolm’s respective daughters, but this has not been confirmed.
Keshia Knight Pulliam also posted the clip to her Instagram story. Following this, she shared her reasoning for not commenting on Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s passing sooner. She wrote, “Thank you for every text, call, and all of the love that you have sent my way…”
She went on, “I’ve just needed a moment.” Of course, this is understandable as it seems the two remained close in the decades after “The Cosby Show” came to an end.
She Played The Younger Sister On ‘The Cosby Show’
Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Keshia Knight Pulliam both starred on “The Cosby Show” throughout its run. This was from 1984 until 1992 on NBC. As her posts allude to, she played Rudy Huxtable, the youngest child in the family.
As mentioned, the two remained close in recent years. According to USA Today, Keshia Knight Pulliam was even a guest on an episode of his “Not All Hood” podcast. This was about a month before his tragic passing.
