When police arrived they began negotiating, alleging he threw one knife at officers.

“All I could hear was yelling, ‘put the knife down or we’ll shoot’,” Grabsch said.

It woke Grabsch up and when he came outside he recognised the man with the weapon and didn’t think twice.

“I just walked up to him calmly and just said ‘please give me the knife I’m not going to let anyone hurt you’ and he gave me the knife and I threw it behind him on the pathway,” Grabsch claimed.

Before he knew it, the taser was discharged.

“I should never have been tasered,” he added.

“I didn’t speak to police, I didn’t threaten police, I didn’t say anything to police. All I did was remove the knife and de-escalate the situation.”

If the taser wasn’t enough, Grabsch was also handcuffed on the ground.

He’s been left with a suspected broken collarbone and one big question. Grabsch has been left with a suspected broken collarbone from the incident.

“I said why’d you taser me? They wouldn’t answer,” Grabsch claimed.

Grabsch is now considering getting a lawyer, feeling like he’s being punished for being a good Samaritan and fearing he may face charges from police.

SA police this afternoon confirmed he’s been reported for hindering police.

“A member of the public disobeyed police direction,” a statement from police said.

“[They] refused to put the knife down when directed and was subsequently tasered.

“Body worn video of all officers involved is being viewed.”

“I mean I’ll fight it all the way to the Supreme court, if I have to,” Grabsch said.

“Because I believe my actions were to save him and anyone else that may have been injured and being a friend to someone that was in need.”
