Netflix gave fans a surprise peek at Happy Gilmore 2, featuring a very loud, very angry Eminem cameo, and yes, there’s more of him to come.
Tucked inside the trailer is a surprise blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo: Eminem, in a bucket hat, a scruffy beard, and verbally going at Adam Sandler’s Gilmore.
The rapper’s character only flashes across the screen for a second, but it is enough to catch the mood — he is mad, rude, and probably not a fan of Happy’s short game. And while we do not know much yet, it is clear Slim Shady’s role in the film will not stop at one angry outburst.
The trailer was part of Netflix’s Tudum showcase, which rolled out sneak peeks of upcoming hits like Stranger Things and Wednesday. Sandler’s return to the golf course marks nearly 30 years since the original Happy Gilmore swung into theatres. This time, the comedy lands straight to streaming, with a Netflix release date set for July 26.
So, get ready: Happy is ready to take over screens, and so is Em, apparently with a lot to say.
