What food was served at the state banquet?

Many of the president’s social media followers also quizzed him on what food had been served at the banquet.

According to reports, guests were treated to watercress panna cotta, followed by a chicken ballotine wrapped in courgettes.

There also appeared to be a sweet tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, with one of her favourite sweet treats, a vanilla ice cream bombe, served for dessert.

When asked about the meal upon his return, Trump said simply that he ate “whatever the hell they served us”.
