Four teenagers were arrested, several patients taken to hospital with serious injuries and morning commuters delayed after a multi-vehicle crash on Brisbane’s Kingsford Smith Drive early on Tuesday.
Police were called to the Hamilton road near Cooksley Street about 4.38am following reports a Range Rover, a Mazda CX-60 and a Toyota Hiace had collided.

Officers said the Range Rover had been reported stolen from a home at Beverley Crescent in Broadbeach overnight.
Four teenagers allegedly in the luxury SUV at the time of the crash were arrested nearby and taken to hospital under police guard.
The 17-year-old Capalaba boy, 16-year-old Rochedale South boy, 16-year-old Loganholme boy and 14-year-old Upper Mount Gravatt girl suffered a range of injuries, but all were in a stable condition.
Two men from Toowong in another vehicle were taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. One had been trapped inside the car.

Ambulance initially reported the men suffered life-threatening injuries, but later confirmed they were in a serious but stable condition. One suffered significant lower limb injuries and the other had chest and back injuries.
A tangled mess of debris lined the side of the road and a large concrete piece of kerb had been lifted out of the ground.
Much of the front of the Mazda had been torn off, and the Range Rover was also damaged badly.
Traffic backed up for kilometres in the area, with an eastbound lane of Kingsford Smith Drive still closed at that time.

The Forensic Crash Unit was investigating, with police appealing for anyone with footage of the crash or more information to come forward.
Attorney-General Deb Frecklington was asked if the crash, and similar other incidents in recent days across Queensland, suggested the government’s promised crackdown on youth crime was failing.
Spruiking new crime data, she declined to say if she believed the state was still in the midst of the youth crime crisis on which the government campaigned.
“There are challenges we’re facing, and we’re facing those challenges because [of] a decade of Labor’s youth crime crisis,” she said.
“There has been a generation of hardcore repeat juvenile offenders roaming around this state without consequences of action.”
