Identification efforts are underway for a man found dead in a Melbourne river last month.
His body was found in the Maribyrnong River just off Canning St in Avondale Heights on Saturday, February 14, about 11am.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, Victoria Police said on Friday.
The man was captured on CCTV walking along Duke St in Sunshine North on February 8 about 8.10pm, and Victoria Police have now released images of the man amid ongoing efforts to identify him.
He is described as Caucasian in appearance with dark hair including some facial hair.
Police described him as being between the age of 21 and 50, and said one of the man’s distinctive tattoos on his right forearm reads: “Mum 1964 – 2006”.
He also had a “Mr Horsepower” tattoo on his right forearm, and the outline of black flames tattooed around his left forearm.
“He was wearing a dark shirt with ‘BARBER’ insignia, a studded belt, black jeans, black socks and a silver necklace,” Victoria Police said,
Police have additionally created digitally generated images of the man to assist with their enquiries.
Anyone who recognises the unidentified man, or who has any relevant information, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
