A FLORIDA driver has captured startling photos showing an eerie orange object streaking over a busy highway.

The massive object and its trail of light can be seen against the pitch black night sky, with commenters across the internet weighing in on what it is.

Fisherman Brandon Barton captured the mysterious sight while driving home on a highway near the Emerald Coast in the southern part of Florida’s panhandle.

Barton’s footage highlights a mysterious glowing object slowly but surely traveling the night sky, leaving a glowing trail in its wake.

Filmed on March 4, Barton immediately posted the sighting video to his social media accounts on various platforms, with the video showing him audibly shocked at the sight.

“What the hell is that?” he questions while recording a video later posted to his Instagram and TikTok accounts.

One potential explanation is a SpaceX launch from the morning of March 4 out of the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, roughly 400 miles away from the Emerald Coast, which commenters pointed out online.

Other social media users chose to have more fun with the phenomenon, sharing their jokes on what the cause could be and their being in awe of the sight.

“Some crazy sh*t,” said one TikTok user.

“My drone lost connection and left the atmosphere,” joked an Instagram user.

“I tied a bad knot on a Skitterwalk,” added a third social media user.

The Federal Aviation Administration did not immediately return The U.S. Sun’s request for comment on whether or not the sight Barton saw was indeed the SpaceX launch.

UFO sightings are common even in the nation’s most densely-populated areas, with the concept of such sightings even serving as the lifeblood of entire towns.
