“Lucinda truly ‘threw kindness around like confetti’, everyone adored her.

“The apple of my parents’ eyes, Lucinda went on to marry her first sweetheart, Johnno.

“They travelled the world together, Lucinda achieved her teachers degree, then settled down to focus on her one true love, her family of four children.”

Wunderlich was diagnosed with stage four cancer three years ago. Rowntree previously revealed her sister had joined a medical trial in the US, which had helped shrink her tumours.

In her tribute, Rowntree said her sister had touched the lives of everyone around her.

“All agree ‘world’s best Mum’, Lucinda had a talent with children and even had a gift store named after her beloved daughter Daisy!” she wrote.

“Teaching has been her focus the last few years and equally all her students agree they’ve been blessed to have her in their lives. Her health journey has seen our family experience so much kindness from others, thank you so very much, it’s been treasured.

“Go ahead and support @dreams2live4.aus “| didn’t know about them until recently, they’re good people. I am just so sad to share that tonight, heaven has a new angel, our beautiful Lucinda. #rip #lucinda #heartbroken #cancersucks X #heavenhasanewangel.”

Rowntree also shared treasured family photos of Wunderlich, who had undergone chemotherapy during her treatment.

She said Wunderlich had formed a strong connection with charity Dreams2Live4, which grants wishes to adults living with stage four cancer, and her family had helped raise money and awareness for the organisation.

Rowntree first spoke publicly about her sister’s diagnosis in April 2023.

At the time, Rowntree said her family had been left devastated by Wunderlich’s diagnosis but described her sister as determined and hopeful as she underwent chemotherapy and immunotherapy at Royal North Shore Hospital.

She also revealed her sister had become the first patient on a new medical trial that could one day help others.

Comments of support from friends and fans flooded in, with many offering their condolences.

“Beautiful words Treens. How truly sad I feel for you and the fam,” one friend wrote.

“I’m so sad for you Catriona and your Mum. You can tell through your words and her pictures that she was pretty bloody special. Be gentle on yourself.”
