When they walk down the aisle to marry a stranger, the Married At First Sight participants are hoping to find their happily ever after.
Ahead of Season 13’s Final Vows, that’s exactly what some couples believe they’ve found.
Soon, the couples will decide whether to take their connections out of the experiment and into the real world, or leave their match behind for good.
We’ll have to wait and see who makes what choice, but for now, here is what we know about the status of the remaining couples.
Alissa and David – broken up?
Alissa and David’s relationship got off to a controversial start when she refused to marry him at the end of the aisle.
“I don’t think I can marry you … not until you get on one knee and propose to me first,” she said.

At the time, David saw that as a red flag but as the experiment continued, their relationship bloomed.
However, the issue of it being Alissa’s way or the highway came back in the final weeks of the experiment.
During Homestays, Alissa backtracked on a plan for both her and David to move to Sydney for a couple of years following the experiment, deciding that if the relationship was to work he would have to move to her hometown of Adelaide.
He aired his concerns about not feeling heard in their relationship at the final Commitment Ceremony, which Alissa said had “blindsided” her.
Then just days before Final Vows, an argument following the Final Test resulted in both Alissa and David taking off their wedding rings.
David became frustrated with Alissa’s dismissive reaction to his feelings after he expressed concerns over her behaviour with her alternative match.
“I’m done, I deserve more than that. I’m not going to Final Vows,” David said, storming out of their room.
In the hallway, he took of his wedding ring and left it on a nearby luggage cart.
Alissa soon followed him and declared herself “done” as well, tossing her ring in his direction.
But is it really the end, or are they going to fight for their relationship? We’ll have to wait and see!
Gia and Scott – broken up
It was a long way to fall for the former, self-described “power couple”, when a disagreement over leaving the experiment ended in a break-up.
After the Final Test, Gia decided she no longer wanted to continue in the experiment and Scott agreed to go with her.
Except he actually wanted to see the experiment out, which caused her to storm out of their final date and leave her ring behind as she headed to the airport.
It was a brutal, public break up. (Nine)
Then, with Gia gone, Scott watched footage of her flirting with alternative match James at the brides’ Final Test lunch – and for him, that was all the proof he needed that their relationship was done.
“She just ruined me. This happens to me with everyone – they just use me,” he sobbed.
“I give people so much and they just use me because they know I’m too easy. I’m never going to let this happen again.”
It was a heartbreaking moment, but is it really the end of Gia and Scott? Well, yes. Gia has already gone public with her new boyfriend Alan Wallace.
What we do know is that we’ve not seen the last of Gia and Scott’s dramatic break up.
Promos for the final weeks confirm Gia returns for the final Dinner Party, so we’ll be waiting with bated breath to see if there’s another part of the one-time power couple’s saga.
Bec and Danny – still together
Talk about a rollercoaster relationship, but after all their ups and downs, Bec and Danny are heading to Final Vows.
So far, they’ve overcome a lack of sexual chemistry, Bec getting caught up in all the drama, being practically exiled at the Retreat over Bec’s crude speech and many other, as Bec would say, “ding dongs”.
At the final Commitment Ceremony, Bec said she worried that Danny just wasn’t that into her so the final week of the experiment was supposed to be all about him proving that wasn’t the case.
Instead, Bec reigniting a friendship with Gia and the Final Test threw a spanner in the works!
Danny was upset with Bec taking Gia’s date’s phone number on her behalf, saying it “encouraged cheating” and thought her vulgar remarks at the lunch were out of line.
Meanwhile, Bec had issues with Danny’s actions too but chose not to share them to keep the peace.
Bec was upset with Danny’s issues with her Final Test – and he was upset about her reaction! (Nine)
There’s only a few days left for them to work through their issues before Final Vows, but of course Bec and Danny will keep us guessing until the very last minute.
Stella and Filip – still together
From the very first moment, sparks flew for Stella and Filip – and lucky for us, they turned into full blown fireworks as the experiment continued.
It’s the love story of the season, complete with mutual L-bombs and a fully formed plan to move in together as soon as filming ends.
The couple overcame Stella’s abandonment issues and Filip’s worries about packing up his entire life to relocate to be the strongest they’ve ever been on their final date.
To prove it, Stella gifted Filip a house key!
“I know 100 per cent that she’s locked in,” Filip reacted.
“That’s exactly what I needed to see at this point in the experiment to feel like I can move everything over and make the move.”
Season 13’s biggest love story. (Nine)
Stella had no doubt in her mind that they were going to make it.
“We are it, we’re going the distance,” she said.
Rachel and Steven – still together
They’ve been our slow burn, but Rachel and Steven are ending the experiment better than ever.
In the early days, Steven rejected Rachel’s Intimacy Week ask for a simple kiss and during the Retreat, their sex life became the talk of the town thanks to Bec’s crude joke.
But by Homestays, Rachel and Steven had found both a physical and emotional connection.
They’ve come a long way! (Nine)
It was there that Steven confirmed he could see himself falling in love with her, which was music to Rachel’s ears as she felt the exact same.
They’re heading to Final Vows the strongest they’ve ever been, so hopes are high for a happy ending.
