In this episode of Good Morning Angels: The Legacy, Elize Barnard recalls that dark time in her life and shares how the help of Angels gave her strength and motivation to never give up.
Jacaranda FM
64-year-old Elize Barnard lives in a small house in Pretoria West.
She and her friend share the home with five family members who are also visually or mentally challenged.
Elize has always been the breadwinner and caregiver for others, but a house fire in August 2024 almost broke her spirit.
More than half of the 50-square-meter home was damaged, and most of their belongings were lost.
Elize’s former employers, Emmie and Willie Boshoff, rallied their church group, friends, and community to rebuild the home and replace what was lost, but they needed additional help to complete the project.
In this episode of Good Morning Angels: The Legacy, Elize Barnard recalls that dark time in her life and shares how the help of Angels gave her strength and motivation to never give up.
Good Morning Angels: The Legacy will revisit some of the people who have benefited from the kindness of strangers since 2005.
They will share, in their own voices, how that moment of light impacted their lives in the most beautiful, sometimes unexpected, and inspiring ways.
Tune in every Monday morning at 08:10 on Breakfast with Martin Bester to hear the Good Morning Angels story—a celebration of 20 years of changed lives, in the voices of those who are living it.
And tune in every Wednesday morning, as we continue to change lives for good.
