Tributes have flooded in for the “kind and sweet” star from Melbourne after his manager announced he died on Monday.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Konrad Bien-Stephen,” his team said on Thursday.
“We ask that you respect the privacy of their family during this incredibly difficult time. No further information will be shared at this stage. Our thoughts are with all who loved him.”
His ex-partner, Abbie Chatfield – podcast host and fellow past-Bachelor contestant – shared her devastation.
Abbie said while she and her ex hadn’t spoken in years, she was “devastated for his friends and family.”
“I have seen the news of Konrad’s death, and I have known the news for a few days now. Thank you to the people reaching out to me to let me know or to send their support,” she wrote.
“Konrad was such a kind and sweet person to everyone. A very caring man who deserved to live a very very long life. I am so heartbroken that he doesn’t get to do that. And that his loved ones don’t get to experience that full, long life with him.”
Konrad won hearts on Brooke Blurton’s season of The Bachelorette Australia – the first season in the franchise to feature both male and female contestants – for his funky fashion sense and big heart.
Although Blurton didn’t pick him as the winner in the end, Konrad quickly gained a huge social media following.
Before the end of the season aired, Konrad and Abbie confirmed they were in a relationship.
The pair regularly discussed the openness of their relationship on social media.
After his split from Abbie, Konrad went on to fall in love with Australian ARIA-winning artist Thelma Plum.
They featured heavily on each other’s social media accounts in 2023 and he regularly attended her gigs and award shows.
His dog, Mis, also showed up regularly on his Instagram.
In recent years, Konrad had pursued other artistic endeavours, including taking acting classes at the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art.
Tributes have poured in for the Aussie carpenter, who also ran Yeah Good Studio.
Fellow Bachelor star Brittany Hockley called him “the sweetest soul ever”.
MasterChef Australia star Connor Curran described his late friend as “too beautiful for this world”.

Megan Marx – who also starred on The Challenge and the pair explored a romantic connection while on the show – shared a heartbreaking post honouring her pal.
“Konrad has chosen to step off this wild, stubborn road before the rest of us were ready,” she wrote.
“He was a good friend. And f**k was he was funny! Witty. Made me laugh in that deep, unexpected way that catches in your chest and makes the whole day feel lighter.

“I keep thinking about the things he still had lined up – that wandering horse trek somewhere wide and dusty, the fiddle under his chin, motorcycle trips, the quiet courage of getting his art out into the world.
“Trying to make the world a little better. Homey. All the pieces of a life still calling to him.
