Welcome to another juicy MAFS Commitment Ceremony, after another explosive Dinner Party, after another unhinged week.
It never gets old!
For the couples at the centre of the Retreat week chaos, it’s surprisingly brought them closer.
To prove it, Steven offers to make Rachel a coffee, and Danny shows that even tucking your t-shirt into your shorts can be forgiven with chocolate.
Horrifying. (Nine)
Juliette has woken up regretful. She slung insults in Rachel’s honour, only for Rachel to “help kick her down” by labelling her C-bomb unnecessary.
As unnecessary as the latest development in Gia’s screenshot saga, which she says could “ruin” Bec for good, perhaps?
Rather than expose them herself, she’s sent them to Juliette. And well, I think we can all see where this is going!
Looks like the experts have a lot to handle on the couch this week.
Gia and Scott
Gia and Scott are adamant all the drama hasn’t impacted their relationship at all.
In fact, Gia wants to stop focusing on it completely. Which is why she sent those screenshots to Juliette and is now snapping at Danny to “shut up”, of course!
Gia and Scott have a strong connection but neither is ready to call it love yet.
That doesn’t mean it’s not serious though. Gia’s even made calls to movers as she plans their future on the Gold Coast.
That has to wait though, because they each choose to stay another week.
Bec and Danny
These two and their matching white fits have run away, returned and now believe they’re stronger than ever.
Although, Bec says she’s scared to take things into the real world because she thinks her feelings for Danny are stronger than his for her.
Bec declares her love for Danny
News to him!
Then Bec drops another bomb. An L-bomb.
“F— it. I love you!” she declares to Danny in front of the experts, their co-stars and the entire nation.
Notttttt the reaction I would personally want after an I love you… (Nine)
There are claps from the group and Danny awkwardly blinks his way through it.
“Please don’t run away from me,” she tells him, as they both share their “stays”.
In a voxy interview, Danny admits he felt very on the spot: “She can tell me 10,000 times, if I don’t feel it I’m not going to say it back.”
Rachel and Steven
Despite quite literally everything that’s happened this week, Alessandra still wants all the juicy details on Rachel and Steven’s intimacy.
The retreat has really put that on ice, though, because it’s hard to get frisky when everyone’s all up in your business.
Rachel and Steven reveal the Retreat drama affected their intimacy
Looking back now, Rachel thinks her prolonged hurt throughout the retreat was thanks to being used “like a pawn” by Juliette and Gia.
Despite all the outside noise, Rachel and Steven’s emotional bond has grown. They’re staying!
Chris and Sam
Sam made a move on his husband this week, an official goodbye to Mr Slow Burn!
Mel asks if they’ve been thinking about life after the experiment, and Chris has already mapped out their living arrangements and real estate portfolios although this is the first time Sam has heard of these grand plans.
We’re bound to hear more about it because they have both written “stay”.
Chris and Sam get out of the ‘friend zone’
Alissa and David
I’m devastated to report that David is back to wearing shirts under his jackets.
After sharing her concerns about it last week, Alissa has come to see David’s calmness as a strength and exactly what she needs. Stay x2.
Alissa labels David her ‘safe space’
Stella and Filip
It’s taken 25 episodes but finally, things aren’t all sunshine and roses for the experiment’s strongest couple.
Filip’s “I love you” has brought out Stella’s fear of abandonment and she’s been self-sabotaging, especially as she thinks about their future.
“At the moment he doesn’t see Sydney as a possibility to move and in my head, this is a break-up,” she says.
I have whiplash. (Nine)
Filip thinks it’s unfair to put that kind of pressure on him and admits that sometimes, it feels like Stella’s trying to take him down a peg.
For example, questioning his masculinity when he’s not up for going out after a long week.
Huh? (Nine)
They’ve also stopped being physically intimate and Stella reveals that Filip’s terrified of “an accident” as she’s not on birth control.
“If you’re so terrified of making someone pregnant, maybe just do a snip,” she says.
No really, HUH? (Nine)
Geez, that’s a bit extreme! Have I tripped and fallen into a condom-free dimension?
Oh, nope. Stella just doesn’t like them.
“It almost seems like a little bit of an excuse,” Alessandra suggests.
Stella reveals their relationship ‘unravelled’ after Fillip confessed his feelings
Stella’s homework is to think before she speaks so she doesn’t hurt Filip’s feelings, which should make him feel more secure in their connection again and help bring back intimacy naturally.
We’ll be hearing about how that goes, as they both write “stay”.
Juliette and Joel
Joel catches the experts up on how they reset their relationship with the help of some beers and a chicken parmy.
Juliette agrees that they’ve come a long way. Now her only reservation is whether he can be more of a “rock” when she’s in a time of crisis.
A.k.a fighting with other brides at Dinner Parties.
The experts call out Juliette for her insults against Bec
Joel says he didn’t step in because he didn’t need to, as Bec and Danny stayed respectful during their confrontation.
Juliette immediately regrets bringing up Bec at all, because Alessandra sees her opportunity to ask why she so viciously attacked someone. Again.
“What I saw was the exact same behaviour, simply a different target,” the expert says.
As Bec yells across the room, Juliette offers a threat.
“You should be careful with how much you are upset about me saying that, when I have screenshots of what you’ve said about Alissa and David.”
Mood. (Nine)
Alessandra jumps in to stop them going at it … and because she wants to hear more about these screenshots.
Juliette lets slip that she and Gia had a plan to bring this up, thinking it softens her C-bomb because Bec’s had her fair share too!
If “the audacity” was an image. (Nine)
“It makes you look so much worse than Bec,” Alessandra says. “It’s conscious retaliation with the purpose to hurt.”
And with that, Juliette’s done.
She walks out, leaving Joel to chase after her as she hurls insults.
Um, rude! (Nine)
With production paused while he chases her down the hallway, Alissa brings up the hurtful screenshots.
Gia’s suddenly got a need to flee. Sorry, I mean pee.
She calls for a toilet break that turns into her also running away.
This lift is giving main character tonight. (Nine)
As Joel returns to the couch and is applauded for his composure, Scott keeps checking his watch to see how long Gia’s been in the loo for.
Oh Scott.
Do we think it’s analog or digital..? (Nine)
Scott can’t even get involved in what looks like a delightful group hug with Joel because he has to go looking for her.
A producer tells him she’s gone.
“You can’t leave like that, we’re falling for each other,” he reacts.
Scott is shocked after Gia flees
Tomorrow night, it’s text time.
We’re finally going to see what had Chris’ jaw on the floor and caused not one but two dramatic walkouts … before Bec comes face-to-face with David as Feedback Week begins.
