Sydney Sweeney and controversial billionaire Scooter Braun have officially gone public with their romance.

The Hollywood actress, 28, and the US record executive, 44, were pictured holding hands during a date night in Los Angeles, California, marking their first PDA since dating rumours first emerged last month.

The unexpected new couple enjoyed an outing at the David Kordansky Gallery followed by a private dinner, where they were also joined by a small group of friends.

According to reports, Sweeney and Braun made an under-the-radar back entrance to dinner, where they were later seen sneaking out the rear exit into their waiting car.

The White Lotus star looked glamorous in a leather jacket and denim mini shorts, while Braun dressed casually in a white long sleeve shirt and nude-coloured pants.

Whispers the pair had forged an unlikely relationship emerged in early September, with unconfirmed reports they first hit it off in June during wedding celebrations for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice.

In line with those reports, a resurfaced video went viral on X showing the duo leaving Harry’s Bar in the Italian city at the time.

This is a modal window.

The pair managed to avoid headlines at the time, with Sweeney instead garnering attention for “canoodling” with Tom Brady and Orlando Bloom during the star-studded three-day celebration.

By September, sources spoke to Page Six confirming Sweeney and Braun were “casually” seeing one another, with Braun reportedly becoming “obsessed” with the Euphoria actress after spending time with her in the months after their meeting.

The investor – who is known for discovering Justin Bieber on YouTube in 2008 – keenly “pursued” Sweeney in the weeks after their meeting in Venice, per the outlet.

“It’s still new,” a source told the publication, adding their relationship had “escalated beyond a hook-up.”

Braun was said to have asked his inner circle to “keep it hush-hush for now”.

Sweeney’s love life has been the subject of much speculation since she split from her longtime partner, fiance Jonathan Davino, in April, after abruptly postponing their planned wedding weeks earlier.

An insider told People at the time of the break-up Sweeney was “in the middle of a magical career” trajectory and wanted to keep her focus on that.

“She’s not ready to settle down,” the source claimed.

“They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”

Braun, for his part, split from his wife Yael Cohen, 38, in 2021 after seven years together. The former couple share three children.

While Braun has built a successful music empire, he’s perhaps best known for his feud with megastar Taylor Swift.

Their highly-publicised beef kicked off when Braun’s company bought Swift’s former label Big Machine Label Group in 2019, and in turn the rights to much of her music catalogue for around $US300 million.

It was a painful transaction for Swift, who not only had no control over her own work, but didn’t have a good relationship with Braun.

Braun later sold Swift’s work to Shamrock Capital after 12 months for a rumoured $US400 million, prompting the pop star to re-record her earlier albums.

After a years-long battle to buy back her music, Swift came out on top with the announcement in May this year she’d finally made it happen.

“All of the music I’ve ever made … now belong … to me,” she wrote in a lengthy letter.

“The passionate support you showed those [re-recorded] albums and the success story you turned The Eras Tour into is why I was able to buy back my music,” she continued.

“I can’t thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now.”
